Dead は、今では多くの Live 盤がリリースされているが、
私が聴き始めた頃は、日本にはテーパーさんもいないし、
ネット社会も存在しなかったので、
これから何回かに分けて紹介していく盤を
繰り返し繰り返し聴いていました。

たいていの Dead Head の方が
薦めるのが本日の"Live Dead"だと思います。

今、私の HD には 2014 年から
"30 Days Of Dead"の音源が格納されています。

毎年、11月に毎日、Dead が Play した音源が
アップされ、その音源がいつのものか当てるという企画だ。
Dead の Archivist and Producer の
David Lemieux が選曲をしている。

商品としては、今年は来年のカレンダーと
Sold Out になっている
Here Comes Sunshine Box Set らしい。

私は、毎年、この時期、
毎日音源だけで DL して楽しんでいる。

最近の空輸便 / Grateful Dead

めっきり海外発注も少なくなりました。

Billy & The Kids の Tee、
デザインが気に入り発注でした。
よっほど、Dead が好きな人でないと
街でこの Tee を着ていても
これが Dead 関係の Tee だとは
わからないだろうところがミソかな。

この 50 周年 Edition シリーズはハズレなしです。
本作も良い音で Remaster してくれています。
美しいサウンドで、いろいろな楽器の音が
細かく聴こえてきます。



最近は、Live よりも改めて
スタジオ録音を聴く機会が増えています。
スタジオ演奏もいいんです、改めて感心しています。

Disc 2 の Live 音源の音質も Excellent でした。
来年の The Mars Hotel の 50 周年も楽しみだ。

以前に、Stella Blue の MV を紹介しましたが、
Album がリリースされました。
本作が Release された経緯は、
最後に説明文をそのまま掲載しておきます。



本作は、ABB、Dead & Co のメンバーである
Bassist の Oteil Burbridge が、
Garcia/Hunter の曲を使い仕上げた
Oteil の鎮魂歌である。



だから、ここには派手な演奏はない。
地味でありながら、
彼のスタイルを活かした作品に仕上がっているが、
このアルバムは、彼の生活を潤すほどの
売り上げにはならないだろう。
それでも、こうして父親に対する思いを
永久に作品として残せるのは、
音楽家冥利に尽きるであろう。



The album serves as a deeply personal journey for Burbridge,
who uses the Garcia/Hunter catalog
as a means of processing his own grief following the loss of his father,
brother Kofi Burbridge, and mentor Col. Bruce Hampton.

Reflecting on that process, Oteil shares, “Looking back,
I don’t feel like I was able to really process
all the pain from these huge losses until I started working on these ballads.
All these arrangements were written through many tears.
And all the vocal tracks were recorded that way as well."

音質はまあまあで Good 程度かな。
平均的な演奏に、平均的な Set List でした。
今年もあと 1 公演の Released ですが、
来年もこのシリーズは続くのだろうか。
もう、そろそろ限界のような気もするし、
最近は、贅沢にもありがたみを感じなくなってしまっている。



本作は、Disc1が Set 1 、
Disc 2 から Disc 3 の Don't Ease Me In までが Set 2、
Disc 3 の 7 曲目からは Filler で、
音源は、1979/12/04 - Uptown Theatre, Chicago,IL

相変わらず、ジャケットデザインもダサいな。
