本作が Release された経緯は、

本作は、ABB、Dead & Co のメンバーである
Bassist の Oteil Burbridge が、
Garcia/Hunter の曲を使い仕上げた
Oteil の鎮魂歌である。



だから、ここには派手な演奏はない。
地味でありながら、
彼のスタイルを活かした作品に仕上がっているが、
このアルバムは、彼の生活を潤すほどの
売り上げにはならないだろう。
それでも、こうして父親に対する思いを
永久に作品として残せるのは、
音楽家冥利に尽きるであろう。



The album serves as a deeply personal journey for Burbridge,
who uses the Garcia/Hunter catalog
as a means of processing his own grief following the loss of his father,
brother Kofi Burbridge, and mentor Col. Bruce Hampton.

Reflecting on that process, Oteil shares, “Looking back,
I don’t feel like I was able to really process
all the pain from these huge losses until I started working on these ballads.
All these arrangements were written through many tears.
And all the vocal tracks were recorded that way as well."
